When is a website redesign actually worth it?

When the site is costing you work rather than just looking dated. The usual signals are concrete: you hesitate to send the link, prospects arrive already unconvinced, the site is slow on a phone, or you cannot update it without calling someone. Cosmetic staleness alone is rarely worth the spend.

The signals that actually justify a rebuild

Plenty of dated sites are still doing their job. The ones worth rebuilding share a specific symptom: the business has moved and the site has not.

  • You hesitate to send the link to a good prospect
  • The site contradicts your positioning, describing work you no longer do or pricing you no longer charge
  • It is slow or awkward on a phone, which is where most first visits happen
  • You cannot change anything without paying someone or breaking the layout
  • Paid traffic arrives and leaves, so spend has nowhere good to land
  • Nobody can see the results, because there is no tracking worth the name

What a redesign with us involves

A redesign is not a fresh start that throws away everything you have earned. Rankings, URLs and accumulated authority are assets, and losing them is the most common own goal in this category.

  • Redirects mapped before launch, so existing rankings survive the move
  • Whatever is already working gets kept, rather than rebuilt for the sake of it
  • The path a customer takes drives the structure, then design follows
  • Tracking installed from day one, so the difference is measurable rather than felt
  • Full ownership at the end, including the domain and the files

What a rebuild can be worth

Same Day Garage Door came to us with a $20M growth target and a site that was not built to get them there. The rebuild covered 45+ pages with a 90+ page CMS migration, tracking, analytics and A/B testing infrastructure. It produced 16.75% average landing page conversion across campaigns, a 25% increase in booked jobs year over year, and $1.58M in topline revenue.

Send us the site you have now.

You will get a straight answer about what is worth fixing, what is worth keeping, and whether a rebuild is justified at all.

Book site review

Questions about redesigns.

Will a redesign hurt my search rankings?+

It can, and that is the most common way redesigns go wrong. Redirects get mapped before launch so existing URLs point at their replacements, which is how accumulated authority survives the move. Skipping that step is what causes the traffic drop people associate with rebuilds.

Can you keep parts of our current site?+

Yes, and usually we should. If something is working, rebuilding it is spending money to stand still. The audit tells us what to keep.

How is this priced compared to a new build?+

The same way. The core build covers six to eight pages at about $8,600 upfront or $10,200 in year one on the subscription, with pages beyond that added in phases.

How do we know it worked?+

Tracking goes in from day one, so the comparison is measured rather than argued. That is also how Same Day Garage Door could attribute a 25% increase in booked jobs to the rebuild.
