The Challenge
Manning Transfer is a Minnesota-based logistics and transportation company with a long track record in the region. When a holding company acquired the business, they came in with a clear priority: the online presence needed to catch up to the reputation. Manning Transfer had earned real authority in its market, but the website wasn't communicating any of it. The new owners needed a site that modernized the brand without erasing the heritage that gave it credibility in the first place.
Our Strategy
This kind of project requires a careful balance. Go too far toward new and you lose the trust signals that come from decades in the industry. Stay too close to the old and nothing actually changes. We started with discovery to understand Manning Transfer's history, their client base, and what the holding company's vision was for the updated brand. From there, a moodboard to find the visual language that bridged legacy and modern, a wireframe to map the updated experience, and a collaborative design and build process. Key Actions - Discovery to understand company history, brand equity, and holding company vision - Moodboard to define a visual direction that honored heritage while modernizing presentation - Wireframe and UX to map the updated site experience - Design concepts developed in close collaboration with ownership - Full build, launch, and handoff
The Results
website that finally reflects the authority Manning Transfer has earned
brand equity lost in the transition to new ownership
