The Challenge
Rudy and Amy Zuidema run a husband-and-wife wine operation out of Napa Valley, California. Their business is more layered than most: they grow and sell their own wine, and Rudy consults other vineyards professionally. But their website treated all of it like a footnote. In an industry where perception is half the product, an unclear, outdated online presence wasn't just an aesthetic problem. It was a credibility problem. Visitors couldn't easily understand what Zuidema Wines was, what it offered, or why it was worth their attention.
Our Strategy
We started where we always do: deep discovery. Zuidema Wines isn't a simple storefront. It's a brand with multiple services, a distinct personality, and a specific audience that needed to feel something when they landed on the site. We worked with Rudy and Amy to identify their key messages, built a moodboard to capture the visual ethos they were after, and wireframed the experience before a single design element was touched. From there, we moved into design concepts and full development, keeping them closely involved throughout so the final product felt unmistakably like them. Key Actions - Deep discovery to map their business model, goals, and audience - Messaging clarification across vineyard, wine sales, and consulting services - Moodboard to establish visual tone and brand ethos - Wireframe to define the user experience before design began - Collaborative design concepts with client review at every stage - Full development, launch, and ongoing support
